Lessons of Chernobyl accident

The purpose: Retrospective estimation of adequacy of some actions for liquidation of consequences of failure on the basis of the analysis of efficiency of performance accepted before decisions and dynamics of oncological disease of the population of the suffered areas Russian Federations. Materials and methods: Publications of official documents and results of scientific researches, and also statistical materials accessible in the open press. Results and conclusions: The stored experience has shown necessity of creation of more accurate and professionally focused system of the organization of works on elimination of consequences of radiating failures, revision of some governmental and departmental decisions regulating an establishment of a causal relationship of diseases with action of ionizing radiation as a result of emergencies. It is not revealed changes in dynamics of growth of oncological disease of the population in territory of the Bryansk region for 20 years, the last moment of failure on Chernobyl accident, except for growth of disease statistically significant and proceeding until recently by a thyroid gland cancer in territory of all Bryansk region. It has grown out of the overdue iodic preventive maintenance spent in suffered territories in May, 1986 and testifies to necessity of carrying out of regular inspections of the population of area about revealing of diseases of a thyroid gland
