The problems of universities developing engineering education are highlighted. The relevance of the search for optimal forms and methods of teaching descriptive geometry is substantiated, taking into account the lack of the necessary level of graphic skills among students entering engineering specialties and the constant decrease in the number of classroom hours devoted to studying this discipline at the university. The conditions for improving the eff ectiveness of teaching the discipline “Descriptive Geometry” have been identifi ed: immersion of students in a professional or life context; problematic learning; interpersonal cooperation; using visual materials; taking into account the individual characteristics of students; relying on a diff erentiated approach; dividing the program into modules; creating an accessible information educational environment.
