The article is devoted to the consideration of the history of Vasiliy Rozanov's cooperation in the “Russkoe Obozrenie” (“Russian Review”) journal in 1892-1898. The aim of our study is to clarify the role of the journal in the development of Rozanov as a publicist, as well as his place in the history of “Russkoe Obozrenie” itself under the editor Anatoliy Alexandrov. As a result of the analysis of unpublished materials, the causes and peculiarities of Rozanov's cooperation with Alexandrov were revealed. On the basis of the journal content database, calculations were made to determine the degree of Rozanov's publication activity in “Russkoe Obozrenie” by years and topics. His positions in relation to Russian literature and criticism, to general questions of philosophy, to the education system in Russia are considered. Particular attention is paid to the evolution of the conservative views of Rozanov and his attitude towards the monarchy. The participation of Rozanov in the struggle for influence in the journal's editorial office is demonstrated. There are analyzed also the reasons for his refusal to take part in the revival of “Russkoe Obozrenie” by Alexey Filippov in 1899-1901 and the thinker's departure from “journal conservatism” as such.
