Modern Internet and social media capabilities make it possible to "create" or practically "destroy" a digital reputation or digital trust of a person or organization in a matter of minutes. "Astroturfing", as a tool of purposeful destructive impact on reputation and trust, manipulation of public opinion, is becoming an increasingly significant phenomenon of modern economy and society. It seems necessary to understand its essence, for this purpose, this article attempts to systematize the key components of the phenomenon of "astrofuring", to identify the most important approaches to its understanding in the scientific community.
