The article deals with the issues of the criminal justice in the works of F.M. Dostoevsky. There are considered the personalities of the criminals - the inmates of the Omsk prison. The authors analyze the issue of crime and punishment in the works of the writer. There is paid special attention to the author’s attitude to the death penalty. The authors’ reasonings are justified by the thoughts of the famous philosophers - V.S. Solovyev and N.A. Berdyaev, and the distinguished Russian lawyer A.F. Koni.
