Verslibre in the evaluations of German poetry scholars (on the basis of E.M. Remarque's poems)

The present article observes the main approaches to the definition of the nature of vers libre in the works of German poetry scholars. In their researches the German scholars reveal the main characteristics of this type of versification, its origin and development. The classification of free forms of versification is also presented in the article. The author analyzes vers libre poems by E.M. Remarque according to the rhythmico-intonational, lexico-syntactical and structural principles.
