Purpose: The study of the history of the formation of property rights in Roman law. Methodology: The article uses historical, comparative legal and formal logical research methods. Results: The article deals with the formation of property rights in Roman law; analyzed the historical foundations and features of the formation of ownership, possession and holding in Roman law. Novelty/originality/value: The article is of high scientific value, since it is an original form of considering the evolution of property rights, ownership and holding in Roman law.
