The article considers the doctrine of the Wisdom of God contained in the Teaching books of Holy Scripture of the Old Testament, in terms of correlation of this doctrine with the New Testament doctrine of the Son of God, or the Word of God (the Logos). Based on the research of Professor Mitrofan Muretov on this subject, the author actualizes it by conducting a philological and comparative analysis of the most important Old Testament texts that reveal the biblical image of Sophia, as well as analyzes the genesis of the scientific views of the Russian researcher. The article introduces the reader to the development of the thought of the Old Testament sages about the non-closeness of God, expressed in the independent and personal character of His Wisdom as the Mediator between God and the world and the second moment of Divine life. The Old Testament concept of the Wisdom of God is considered in the context of its inner content, as well as in its relation to God, the created world and man. Significant explored passages from the Old Testament are compared with the New Testament texts, which are parallel to them in content and help to reveal the hidden truths about God in the light of the incarnate Word of God, who has become a kind of “key” to the correct understanding of the Old Testament traces of the idea of the Logos.
