Introduction. A new paradigm in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of urinary tract infections (UTIs) is currently emerging in medical science, based on the understanding that urine is not sterile and the urinary tract is inhabited by a diverse microbiome. Recurrent UTIs remain one of the leading инфекционно-воспалительные заболевания problems in the management of patients with neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction (NLUTD), but the dependence of UTI recurrence rate on the composition of the urinary microbiome has not been studied. The purpose of the study was to assess the changes in the urinary microbiome in patients with neurogenic bladder and the relationship between these changes and the frequency of recurrent urinary tract infections.
