Antioxidant vitamins in the nutrition of athletes: physiological, biochemical and hygienic aspects

The article presents an analysis of data from modern scientific literature on the biological role and hygienic significance of antioxidant vitamins A, E, and C in the nutrition of athletes. The body's supply of these vitamins is a factor affecting the antioxidant and metabolic status, the immune system, and physical performance of a person. Deficiency of antioxidant vitamins can negatively affect the level of physical performance of athletes. Taking excessive doses of these biologically active substances does not increase the effectiveness of training, but it can lead to undesirable consequences for the body of athletes.
