Power and its symbols in search of the sacred: review of B. L. Shapiro’s monograph “The Russian horseman in the paradigm of power” (2021)

Issues of representing power in visible images and rituals have long attracted researchers. The monograph by B. L. Shapiro, published in 2021 by the “New Literary Review” publishing house, is dedicated to the perception of the horseman and the horse in Russian political and religious culture.
