This article analyzes the mechanism of economic policy affecting the formation and change of the sectoral structure. Tax policy, government spending, subsidies and price regulation are particularly important factors influencing the structure of industry. To assess such impacts, the authors analyzed the changes that have occurred in industries over the past 10 years and determined their relationship with fiscal policy. The sectoral structure of the economy is one of the factors determining the stability and efficiency of economic activity, influencing the achievement of economic goals. The pace of adaptation of the Russian economy to modern conditions depends on the establishment of new economic relations, the launch of new industries, the effectiveness of import substitution processes, and the development of parallel import mechanisms.
