This article analyzes the relationship between the amount of time spent on gadgets and a person's ability to quickly and accurately process information. It discusses theoretical approaches to defining the categories of attention and speed, as well as the specific consequences of prolonged use of gadgets. The study was conducted at the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Buryat State University named after Dorzhi Banzarov”, with an average age of the respondents ranging from 18 to 20 years old, and students studying in the fields of “psychology” and “tourism”. As part of the experiment, the speed of information processing and attention levels were measured using the Toulouse-Pieron test, edited by L. Yasyukova, along with the average duration of screen time and the categories of consumed content. After conducting the test and processing the results, test performance scores and gadget usage duration per day were compared, and the average values of speed and accuracy of information processing were compared among three groups with varying screen times. The causal relationship between the selected parameters was also identified.
