Analysis of psychosomatic features in patients with type 1 diabetes

Medical and economic importance of the problem of cognitive impairment in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus is difficult to overestimate considering the prevalence, frequency of disability, reduced quality of life and social adaptation of patients, leading to huge material costs for the treatment and social services. The aim of this study was to analyze the influence of cognitive dysfunction on the quality of life in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus. Neuropsychological testing was carried out with standard clinical and metabolic examination, which included the study of cognitive function using Montreal Scale (MoCA test), assessment of quality of life - with common questionnaire MOS SF-36 and special «Audit-dependent quality of life» under license Prof. ClareBradley. Statistical data processing was carried out using application software package R-system. The study found that in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, cognitive dysfunction was significantly reduced quality of life under conditions of hyperglycemia.
