The influence of cultural and ethnic factors on criminal justice in Russia

The article examines the infl uence of cultural and ethnic factors on the criminal justice system functioning in Russia. The subject of the study is the impact of ethnic characteristics on crime and law enforcement in diff erent regions of the country, as well as the social adaptation of persons released from prison. The main att ention is paid to the problems of ethnic crime, the specifi cs of the work of law enforcement agencies in a multinational environment and the diffi culties faced by released persons. The article provides examples from Russian practice and analyzes the current legislative mechanisms, including the norms of the Criminal Executive Code of the Russian Federation and other federal laws. Recommendations are formulated for improving preventive work, rehabilitation and social integration of released persons in a multinational society.
