Impact of international treaties on the improvement of criminal procedure legislation

The article analyzes the impact of international treaties on criminal procedure legislation. The authors state that at present the focus of attention has shifted from studying the role of the practice of the European Court of Human Rights to the consequences of the withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the Council of Europe. The study in this aspect considers the examples of changes and additions made to the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation, the Federal Law «On Operational-Search Activities» and outlines further directions for improving criminal procedure legislation.
