The role of trace element zinc in increasing stress resistance of Amaranthus L. plants under extremal conditions of growth: hypothermia, excessive moisture content and atmospheric drought. It has been found that zinc had a growth stimulating activity under conditions of hypothermia and wet. As a result of pre-sowing treatment by zinc more stressful aminoacids: glycine, proline, alanine and glutamic acid is synthesized in the leaves. Accumulation of hydrophilic aminoacids (osmotically active substances) helps to create a comfort environment for the protein macromolecules and retention of water in cells under onditions of drought.
