Influence of lifestyle and nomadic culture on bringing up Buryat children

The article deals with the impact of ethnographic, cultural and historical factors, determining the peculiarities of economic activity, lifestyle and ethnos development, on formation of educational space of Buryat-Mongolian nomadic civilization. We have analyzed the process of self-identity, value and significance of education based on ethnic and cultural traditions. In our opinion the lifestyle and traditional methods of economic management of Buryat ethnos, in particular, livestock economy influenced on development of its material and spiritual culture, as well as on formation of the Buryats’ educational practice centered around spiritual values of national culture. Phenomenology of educational space based on the ideas of harmony, unity and integrity of the world determined contemplativeness, self-sufficiency of nomads’ mentality, special ethics and aesthetics of nomadic culture. Child-rearing was aimed at formation of the basic qualities of nomad's identity such as skills of survive in harsh natural conditions, flexibility, mobility of thinking, ability to build up relationships with the neighbors. It largely determined the stability, vitality of nomadic culture basic foundations during the centuries-long history.
