COVID-19 pandemic impact on the everyday life and social well-being of medical workers in the Rostov region

The authors discuss sociological research results of social well-being of the professional medical community at Rostov region during COVID-19 pandemic. The relevance of the observation is determined by the practical and scientific necessity to overcome the differences in understanding the phenomenon of social wellbeing, especially in modern Russia when the vector of transformation of the institute of healthcare is corrected forcedly. Despite the significant improvement of the epidemiological situation in the world, the social diagnostics of the consequences of coronavirus infection for the medical community and regional health systems is remaining important. From a sociological point of view, it is methodologically important to take into account the activity aspect, since social well-being depends on a person’s behavior and their everyday life. Based on the empirical data, the COVID-19 pandemic impact on the medical workers’ everyday life and their main problems, fears, alarms are analyzed. It's argued that the social well-being is a subjective perception and assessment by an individual medical worker of the level of their achievements, degree of realization of their needs, and the effectiveness of their life strategy, taking into account sociocultural context and institutional factors.
