Effect of plasma three-phase series reactor on power supply networks

Бесплатный доступ

The article describes experiment results analyzing energy characteristics of an installation - a three-phase serial plasma reactor operating on principle of electric arc steel-smelting furnaces. Stone castings, melts from basalt rocks, ash and slag from thermal power plants, and broken glass are obtained with its help. One of the main tasks is the possibility of designing and configuring industrial installations of greater power. Since the installation is a non-linear consumer of electricity, it is necessary to conduct a study of power consumption in operating mode, current and voltage harmonics and their amplitudes at power source input in order to analyze what effect it has on the quality of electricity. Using the obtained numbers, it becomes possible to select protective switching and control equipment, as well as filters to improve the quality of consumed electricity.
