We studied the efficacy and safety of phenazepam administration as a component of combination therapy in 60 patients with coronary artery disease and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) complicated by cardiac arrhythmias. Our data showed that standard cardiotropic drug therapy combined with phenazepam administration in a daily dose of 1 mg led to significant decrease in the number of supraventricular and ventricular extrasystoles, decrease in the levels of anxiety and depression, and improvement in sleep quality in AMI patients. In contrast, we did not find significant improvement in above mentioned parameters in the control group of AMI patients who did not take phenazepam.
