Influence of Herbert Spencer's psychological and pedagogical heritage on problem definition in domestic psychology of the end of the XIXth - the beginning of the XXth century

As an object of research within this article we allocated psychological and pedagogical heritage of Herbert Spencer. The purpose of this article is to track influence of Herbert Spencer's psychological and pedagogical heritage on problem definition in domestic psychology of the end of XIX th - the beginning of the XX th century. Research methods are the following: a historical and genetic method (studying of ideas of the past is inseparably linked to taking into account the general logics of development of science during a certain historical period), a comparative and historical method (the analysis of continuity of the stated ideas). This article can be of interest to researchers of history of foreign and domestic pedagogical psychology, and also to the researchers dealing with problems of the child and age psychology. The results of research reflected in this article can be used in lecture courses on history of psychology, history of pedagogical psychology, psychology of the personality, the general and child psychology, age psychology at faculties of psychology of universities, and will find application in historical and psychological researches, in creation of manuals on history of psychology.
