The general damage of sunflower seeds of 11 studied genotypes varied from 4-5 % for a line VK580 and avariety Favorite up to 43-44 % for large-seeded varieties Lakomka and SPK with the average 23 %. Limits of variability of oil acid value were from 0.98 mg KOH/g for a line VK276 to 8.76 for a variety Lakomka with the average 3.84. The correlation rate between a degree of seed affection and oil acid value was r = 0.64. Infection of both externally damaged and healthy seeds has been presented basically by fungi of Alternaria and Rhizopus species at infection frequency of 37 and 31 % for the damaged and 12 % for healthy seeds. Alternaria species was a pathogen effected on the maximally high oil acid value.
