The influence of mass media on the development of the modern language situation

The active processes taking place in the mass media have created a special information space, which is a fertile environment for the emergence of a large number of new lexical units. The modern language situation in Russia is significantly influenced by the media. The article draws attention to some ways of word formation that take part in the appearance of neologisms in modern Russian language.
