Effect of metformin on restoring of menstrual function in adolescent girls with insulin resistance

The study presents the data on the dynamics of clinical, hormonal, metabolic, ehosonograficheskih indicators in 72 adolescent girls with menstrual dysfunction in combination with insulin resistance after months 6 of metformin therapy aimed at correcting the metabolic and reproductive disorders, prevention of infertility and early reproductive losses. The treatment has mproved the nature of the menstrual cycle in 55.6% of the patients with obesity and 42% of girls with normal body weight. However, no significant effect on the manifestations of hyperandrogenism syndrome was reached. We justify the use of metformin, not only for correction of metabolic disturbances, but also for the treatment of disorders of the reproductive system.
