The impact of exercising with alternating rest intervals on a young cyclist’s specific endurance

Бесплатный доступ

Aim: to reveal the rational rest intervals for young cyclists during endurance training. Three groups of teen cyclists (ten twelve-fourteen-year-olds in each) participated in the experiment. All of them had the same training load amount. A distinctive feature of the training program for each of the three groups was the rest interval length between separate repetitions during endurance cycling. The specific endurance level of teen cyclists has been found to depend on the interval length between series of exercises. The results obtained give reason to conclude that the greatest training effect on the physical quality increase occurs with the rest intervals to be determined by the heart rate of 120-130 beats/min.
