This article analyzes the impact of digital transformation on the social structure of urban society. In the modern world, where digital technologies are becoming more widespread, not only the economy and business sphere are changing, but also social life. The article deals with the problems of insufficient attention to the negative socio-economic and political effects arising from the implementation of “smart cities” projects, the threat of “corporate takeover” of the city and the privatization of public space and urban infrastructure. As a result of the analysis, the author comes to the conclusion that digital transformation affects the social infrastructure of urban society, changes social ties, relationships and behavior of people. However, despite the positive aspects of digital transformation, such as improving the availability of services and accelerating the work of various processes, it can also lead to negative consequences associated with the stratification of society and the deepening of digital inequality.
