Influence of cultivation conditions and antifungal drugs to production arthroconidia by fungus Trichophyton verrucosum

Aim of our study was determine composition of medium and antifungal drugs that action arthroconidia manufacture by fungus Trichophyton verrucosum. Formation T. verrucosum arthroconidia was investigation on various medium and at different pH, temperatures and concentrations CO2 in gaseous medium. Optimally manufacture T. verrucosum arthroconidia on Sabouraud agar was in 8 % CO2, 36 °C, pH 7.5 and came maximum after 12 days. No growth fungus occurred at 42 °C and in medium supplemented 3 % and more NaCl. At low, no growth inhibiting concentrations, clotrimazole and griseofulvin enhance manufacture arthroconidia, while terbinafine reduces it. This result indicates importance environmental parametrs and presence antifungals for manufacture arthroconidia. Obtained data are clinically important, because, if sufficient fungicide concentrations not achieved in some affected zones, the antifungal substances themselves can enhance transformation of hyphae into arthroconidia.
