As the title implies, the paper analyzes the influence of such a subtle, hidden moral-psychological factor as faith in God on the maintenance of the desire to survive and prolong their lives by the cohort of disabled population of the metropolitan metropolis during the COVID-19 pandemic. This thesis is based on the results of the empirical sociological research conducted in two stages in 2018 and 2021. The paper reveals the structure of the group, the specifics of using free time during the forced isolation period; motives to appeal for help to God, moods in a pandemic, lifetime work activity and creative sphere, within “Moscow Longevity” Program to maintain their condition, overcome negative consequences of COVID-19. Faith in God is studied, on the one hand, as a religious factor of psychological stability, on the other hand, as a ritual factor, and finally, as a psychological factor in seeking help from higher forces in extreme social conditions, when a person is unable to neutralize and overcome the threat of death by his own forces. This prospect is complemented by the consideration given to the self-identification of representatives of the disabled on the basis of their faith, which measures the degree of their inclusion in employment and determines its available forms during times of self-isolation among retirees and persons with disabilities.
