The impact of gymnastics on the development of cognitive abilities in children with intellectual disabilities

The article is devoted to the problem of the development of cognitive abilities of children with intellectual disabilities by means of gymnastics. Gymnastics is a complex coordination sport, the essence of which is to perform exercises and elements on gymnastic equipment, as well as acrobatics exercises. The author has experimentally verified that conducting gymnastics classes with children with intellectual disabilities has a positive effect on the development of cognitive abilities of those involved. The data of the conducted research indicate that the ability to concentrate and think faster increases after 3 months of systematic training. We associate the results obtained with the fact that during gymnastics classes conditions are created for the development of concentration and attention.
