The material is a preface to a collection of translations of articles by the famous Romanian theologian Prof. Archpriest Dumitru Stăniloae, published under the title “Theology and the Church” in 1980 in America. In his note, Protopresbyter John Meyendorff reveals the peculiarities of the life, activity, and theological views of Archpriest Dumitru Stăniloae.
