Community-acquired aspects of the use of a structured risk assessment of dangerous behaviour in individuals with mental disorders

The expediency and procedure of using methods of the structured risk assessment of dangerous behavior of the mentally ill (SOROP) in outpatient departments of psychiatric services is based. It is a formal tool based on the evaluation of statistically significant high-risk factors of public danger. Technique “SOROP” is recommended for use as a supplement to clinical evaluation of the patient's condition and clinical dynamic observation to identify patients who are at risk of committing socially dangerous acts requiring special attention of district psychiatrists, organization of preventive measures such as active follow-up. The use of a formalized tool standardizes risk estimation procedure, increases its accuracy, objectivity and conclusiveness.
