Russian business develops both operational and long-term strategic planning, though the latter had been temporarily associated with the planned economy only. The budgeting system is a popular and modern management tool in Russia used for planning the financial and economic activity in short time perspective, through the development of the company's budget and monitoring of budgetary performance within a given period.
