Extracurricular activities as a factor of the socio-pedagogical adaptation of first-year cadets

The article deals with one of the most important interdisciplinary scientific problems of the socio-pedagogical adaptation of the personality, which is currently being studied extensively and intensively. This problem is examined by the example of the cadet school in connection with the need for organizing social and pedagogical support for pupils in the course of their adoption of a new social status, mastering new social roles, establishing a system of interpersonal relations in a team and educational activities. The main factors contributing to the difficulties of adaptation of pupils are highlighted. The main components of extracurricular activities are characterized and they prove its significant role in improving the effectiveness of the process of adaptation of students. The results of the analysis of the characteristics of the socio-pedagogical adaptation of fifth-grade cadets to the conditions of life in the cadet boarding school in the process of extracurricular activities are presented. The results obtained during the pedagogical experiment confirm the positive influence of the organization of extracurricular activities on the adaptation process of the first-year cadets. Materials of the article can be used in the activities of educational institutions with a military orientation of the boarding type.
