The work presents types of extracurricular sports and recreational activities. The results of a survey of junior schoolchildren are presented in order to identify motivation for engaging in extracurricular sports and recreational activities and the formation of health - preserving competence. It has been proven that the use of this type of activity creates a culture of health in children.
