Military vocabulary in German-language journalism and ways of its translation into Russian

This article analyses the problem of methods of translating German military vocabulary into Russian using examples of German-language periodicals. The article presents the theoretical foundations of the study of military vocabulary in the aspect of translation and gives a description of its methods. The relevance of the study is due to the need to translate correctly military vocabulary in socio-political articles from German into Russian, taking into account the current political situation in the world. The work provides definitions of military vocabulary, its functions in journalism, highlights the difficulties and possible methods of translation. The purpose of this study is to identify the most optimal options for translating military vocabulary in socio-political articles from German into Russian. The methodology of the study is presented by a review of scientific works of Russian researchers on the issue under discussion. To study the topic, the method of continuous sampling, comparative analysis, contextual analysis, and descriptive method were used. As a result of the analysis of the selected material, the frequency of use of the most common methods of translating military vocabulary was revealed and statistical data were provided.
