Issues of forensic support of activities of the preliminary investigation bodies for compensation of material damage caused by a crime

The author examines the activities of an investigator to compensate the material damage caused by a crime through search, investigation and other procedural actions in this scientific article. Their list includes, in particular, inspection of the scene of the incident, objects, documents; search; seizure; verification of testimony on the spot; organizational search actions of the investigator; public operational search activities; giving instructions to the body of inquiry on conducting operational search activities. In addition, the paper provides examples from forensic investigatory practice, justifying the following position: forensic support of a civil claim at the stage of preliminary investigation which is possible through the implementation of professional investigatory actions. Within the framework of the study, the author also pays attention to the need to comply with the chosen forensic methodology for carrying out investigatory actions in the investigation of crimes in order to compensate the harm caused by the crime.
