Issues of insolvency (bankruptcy) in the context of history and theory of law

The article analyzes some aspects of the historical-legal and theoretical-legal vectors of the formation of ideas about bankruptcy (insolvency). Recognizing the undoubted significance of these categories for the field of economic relations and focusing on the patterns of the historical process of the genesis of the phenomenon of «bankruptcy» («insolvency») for the economic life of the state, the authors point to the ambiguity of the content of these categories, which continues to be relevant for modern legal thought.
