In modern society, the issue of career guidance and career guidance for both school graduates and young graduates is very relevant. Young people, receiving certificates of secondary vocational education, very often face the problem of choosing higher education institutions. It is no coincidence that among the criteria for evaluating a modern university, the graduate employment rate comes first. In this connection, the competent organization of career guidance in an educational institution, which is also tied to trends in the development of supply and demand in the labor market, is relevant for both a school graduate and an educational institution. The goals of career guidance work are to create a clear idea of the future profession while still at school. Subsequently, at the stage of training at the university, to create an idea of the current situation on the labor market and its relevance on it. The article defines the goals and objectives of career guidance work and considers the key areas of activity of universities in this area.
