Fostering patriotism in history classes

The article discusses the importance of patriotism education in history lessons in Russian schools. The author emphasizes that the school plays a key role in the formation of spiritual and civic values in schoolchildren, creating a basis for their understanding of responsibility for the future of their country. Within the framework of patriotic education, special attention is paid to the study of the historical past, in particular, the Great Patriotic War, as well as the history of the family and native land. The pedagogical process includes research work, projects, and practical activities that help students feel their involvement in the history of the Fatherland. Using personal stories, heroic deeds of ancestors and fellow countrymen, schoolchildren are taught to be proud of the achievements of their people, and a sense of citizenship and responsibility are developed.
