This article describes a psycholinguistic experiment, which was attended by 500 informants. This study makes it possible to figure out how a V-shaped gesture of the Anglo-American culture is perceived by the representatives of Chinese, Altai, American, Mongolian and Russian linguocultures. The experiment also allows us to answer the question about the influence of fine iconism and the universal character of the gesture on the perception of the informants.
