The East Asian model of teaching painting

The article analyzes the method of teaching painting, formed in the Sino-Japanese culture, highlighted a number of principles established in the Chinese education system: the philosophical - focusing on the process of art and essence of creativity; Technical associated with features of learning technical skills; psychological, associated with the education of the student the necessary qualities; cultural, determines the level of personality development, moral bearing positive qualities and energy. Considered division of artists in the degree of proficiency in three categories ("Ping"): the highest - shen, middle - and lower Miao - neng. A review of the major treatises and manuals on painting, it is shown that they were accompanied by theoretical promises illustrative materials explaining the relevant concepts and terminology. Thus the value of the East Asian model of learning painting lies in understanding the essence of the creative process.
