Review of east and European sources on toponymy of the Volga Bulgaria. We consider that even this list, although far from being full, shows that, despite the lack of proper Bulgar sources, the existence of the rich corpus of foreign-language literature, together with other types of data, allows for a rather complete idea of toponymy of this medieval state.
