The possibility of long-term storage of breeding material of sunflower varieties in refrigerator boxes

The main problem of primary seed breeding of sunflower varieties and populations under condition of limited cultivation area is the long-term storage of breeder seed reserves while preserving its sowing qualities at high level. The researches made in the sunflower breeding department showed a simple and effective way to solve this problem by using the refrigerator boxes for long-term storage of seeds material. The results of the initial phase of research on the long-term storage of sunflower breeding material in a refrigerator showed positive results and perspectives for further study of this method of storing seeds.
