Possibilities of WorldSkills movement for the formation of a new educational standard in the training of students in information technologies

The article considers the possibilities of modern computer technologies and their impact on the development of the economy. The features of the competitive format of the WorldSkills movement and its opportunities for creating and promoting a new educational standard for the preparation of students of IT directions are discussed. A feature of the WorldSkills movement is unusually quick and effective development and maintenance of standards for professional competences. It is proved that this effect is due to the special format of the competitive process. For the development of it education in Russia, the Union of the «Young professionals of Russia» WorldSkills Russia (WSR) proposed a new competitive competence «the Development of video games and multimedia applications»
