Statement of the problem. The article presents the results of testing the original diagnostic tools - the questionnaire Diagnostic interview-acquaintance “This is Me”. The development of the method is due to the lack of diagnostic techniques for measuring the parameters of children’s ego identity and self-awareness. The questionnaire is designed to identify the identity and self-awareness of preschool children. The purpose of the article is to present the specification of the original diagnostic tools and the results of testing with the participation of preschool children. Methodology (materials and methods). The research methodology consists of the analysis and generalization of scientific research works by foreign and Russian scientists in the field of self-awareness, identity of children and the development of diagnostic tools. Research results. Based on the theoretical analysis of modern literature, the meaningful characteristics and parameters of the analysis of the process of formation and development of identity and self-awareness in preschool children are highlighted. These parameters were used as the basis for the questionnaire and the results processing system. As a result of the approbation of the questionnaire, data on the content characteristics of identity and selfawareness of preschool children were obtained.
