Possibilities of application of the technique of repertory gridges J. Kelly when studying the features of perception of convicts

The article discusses the possibilities of applying the technique of J. Kelly to study the personal characteristics of convicts. For example, the research data on the characteristics of the perception of the female image by those convicted of crimes against sexual freedom and personal integrity are given. The method allows reconstructing integral systems of a person's ideas about other people. By comparing the results of the diagnosis of subjects convicted of the above crimes with the results of persons serving sentences in places of deprivation of liberty for other crimes, we were able to identify the distinctive features of the perception of the female image. The results obtained in the study allow us to formulate recommendations regarding the ways of resocialization of convicts and the tasks of psycho-correctional work aimed at preventing them from committing such crimes in the future.
