The possibilities of radical conservative treatment of primary cancer of the trachea using radiotherapy

The article presents the long-term studies conducted in the center to explore the possibility of radical treatment of patients with cancer of the trachea, in particular, the use of radiotherapy in cases where, for whatever reasons, a radical surgical treatment can't be applied. It‛s shown that cancer of the trachea is a relatively high radiosensitivity of the tumor, especially Adenoid Cystic carcinoma. These results allow us to recommend radiation therapy in all cases of inoperable cancer of the trachea, as the only adequate method of treatment in this clinical situation.
