The world Universiade for many years is the main student competition, which is characterized by its atmosphere and intensity of struggle. The scale and significance of the world Universiade is comparable to the Olympic Games. About 60% of the participants of the world Universiades perform at the Olympic Games. The world summer Universiade brings together more than 10 thousand athletes from 150-160 countries. For modern Russia, the XXVII world summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan was the first comprehensive competition of this scale.
