The article is devoted to understanding the phenomenon of virtual reality (VR) as a new cultural form of creativity and artistic self expression. The paper analyzes the distinctive features of the VR space, which opens up boundless horizons for creativity and overcomes the physical limitations of the real world. Particular attention is paid to collective creativity in a virtual environment, which allows authors from different parts of the world to unite in professional communities for the joint creation of works of art. The advantages of this approach are considered, including effective communication, realtime exchange of ideas, and synergy of creative efforts. The article analyzes the influence of VR on cultural evolution, the transformation of aesthetic norms, and intercultural dialogue. The emerging genres of VR art, synthesizing elements of various creative directions, are discussed. The educational and enlightening potential of virtual reality technologies is highlighted. Along with the prospects, options for the further development of VR as a cultural phenomenon are considered, including ethical, social, and technological aspects. The need for an interdisciplinary approach to the study of virtual reality by scientists from various fields is emphasized. In conclusion, it is concluded that VR has enormous cultural significance and the ability to fundamentally transform aesthetic concepts, artistic perception, and principles of intercultural communication, ushering in a new era in the evolution of human civilization.
